Charcoal Drawings

These are my charcoal drawings. They are my passion. Alfred Leslie wrote, “The Japanese word “notan” means the achievement of the perfect balance of black and white—representing the most beautiful thing in visual art”. I work toward that goal. I see old movies, and how beautiful the highlights and the shadows are, how mysterious, and glowing they are---how elegant and what a sense of imagination they elicit. Hopefully, these drawings function in the same way.
