Clay Dolls

The clay figures here are influenced, perhaps, by my husband’s grandmother’s doll fence. She was a folk artist in Eufaula, Oklahoma. She was one of the only environmental female folk artists of her time, working from the early 1940’s until her death in 1983. My son and I had the pleasure of taking her shopping for all the dolls and toys at various thrift stores and garage sales. We would drive her back and forth to Eufaula. She loved us, and we did her. She was a major force in my life.

I show these individually, and in groups. I have been wanting to make a wall of famous Oklahomans.

Please select a clay doll to view it in its entirety.
